“The Kissing Booth” Star Joey King Says Her First Kiss With Boyfriend Jacob Elordi Was Funny

Seventeen Magazine has an excellent article on Joey King discussing her relationship with Jacob.

There is also a lot about Joel.

Netflix's new movie The Kissing Booth is the rom-com every teen needs to see! Not only does it have iconic references from other movies, but it also features real-life couple, Joey King and Jacob Elordi. Trust me, I'm not the only one obsessed. According to Netflix programming chief Ted Sarandos, The Kissing Booth is “one of the most watched movies in the world right now.”

If you're one of the few people who haven't seen it yet, here's the breakdown: Elle Evans (Joey King) and Lee Flynn (Joel Courtney) have been friends since birth, all thanks to their mothers' unwavering friendship and a handy-dandy list of rules. One of the rules (number nine, to be exact) explicitly states that Lee's older brother, Noah (Jacob Elordi) is off-limits when it comes to Elle's love life. Of course, it's easier said than done.

In one of your Instagram posts, you shared that your costar Joel got hurt on the very first day of shooting! Is there a crazy story behind that? What scene were you shooting?

Yes! Ok so, we were shooting the scene in the movie where I’m getting in Joel’s car to go to school that day. Before we even started filming, Joel got in the car and he didn’t even realize he had slammed his face on the corner of the Mustang and then everyone was like, “Omg, his chin is bleeding.” He was like, “What? My chin’s bleeding?” It was hilarious because he was so upset because he had to go to the hospital to get stitches. He was so mad. It was his first day of filming. He wanted to be there and hang out. He was so upset but it all worked out in the end.

But, an easter egg! In a couple of scenes, if you look really closely, you can see a tiny, tiny bandage under his chin throughout the movie. In the scene where we’re doing sit ups and eating burgers, you can see that he has a little bandage under his chin.
