Kiss and tell with Joel Courtney from The Kissing Booth 2
From Girls Life : Kiss and tell with Joel Courtney from The Kissing Booth 2

In The Kissing Booth 2, Joel Courtney plays the kind of BGF every girl dreams of. In real life, he's just as awesome as his character, Lee Flynn—and equally great at giving advice on all things related to life and love. Need proof? Just keep reading.

How do you and co-star Joey King compare to Lee and Elle?

One of the best things about our on-screen relationship is how similar and exact it is to our off-screen friendship. I think the fans are going to absolutely love the sequel—it's just more of Joey and me being goofy and funny and side-stitching together

What's the biggest relationship lesson you've learned?

Communicate openly and kindly, and be willing to listen. There are a lot of things that are just awkward to talk about, but if you can get past the uncomfortable factor of it. there's just a conversation. Then you don't have to hide it from the other person, which causes insecurities on both sides—it feels like there's lying going on, which is the end of all relationships.

What was your first impression of Joey?

The first time I really actually met Joey, we were getting our visas from the consulate so that we could go to South Africa to film. And she was so sick. She was losing her voice, she felt miserable—and she was still like the happiest and most joyful person. I was like, "This girl has a really cool, selfless nature about her."

What's the one thing about Jowy that would surprise people?

She's deeper than people think. I mean, yes, she's one of the funniest, most caring, sweet, kind people I've ever met. But she is, like, deep.

Will There Be a 'Kissing Booth 3'? See What the Stars Say!
From JustJared Jr. : Will There Be a 'Kissing Booth 3'? See What the Stars Say!

The Kissing Booth 2 has been out for just one day and it’s of course already a big hit!

At the time of this post, the sequel is the number one title in the US on Netflix, AND The Kissing Booth is even the number nine movie in the US.

If you’ve seen the movie, you already know that the surprising ending was kind of left on a bit of a cliffhanger, leaving open the possibility of another movie.

Netflix has yet to announce if a third movie is happening, but fans are yearning for more, and so are we!!

Stars of the movie, Joey KingJoel CourtneyJacob Elordi and newbies Taylor Zakhar Perez and Maisie Richardson-Sellers, are all dishing on the possibility of a third film, but not all of them are exactly on board…

“Well, me and the cast have been talking and we want that so bad and we’re kind of relying on the fans to help us out,” Joey previously said. “They loved the first one so much and they’re the reason that we got a sequel. So if they love this one and they make it known to the world and to Netflix, our fingers are crossed that Netflix will give us a third movie because that’s what we want really badly.”

“So many of these things end with cliffhangers, you kind of leave it up for interpretation,” Jacob told ET about TKB2 being the end. “Myself personally, I don’t know what I’m doing after this phone call, so [I'm] not sure how to answer that… I have no idea.”

“I might be a little biased, but I actually think that our second movie is better than our first. I just love it. I think it’s so good,” Joel told ET. “The fans gave us so much support in the first movie and got us a second one. Who knows? It might happen again.”

“If there was a third film, I would think that he’s doing his band. She’s doing her thing,” Taylor dished to Teen Vogue. “Maybe outside the walls of the high school, things are a little less dramatic… maybe over the summer they reconnect and tell each other how they feel.”

“I felt like it was the perfect ending to the beginning of a third film,” Taylor also said. “I have no idea if Netflix will be doing one, but… we need justice for Marco.”

Maisie shared that she is definitely down for a third movie, saying, “If there is a number three, I would be there in a heartbeat. It definitely ends on a note where Chloe would be there.”

“I wanna see [Chloe] and Elle. I wanna see that relationship develop,” she added. “I want to see how she interacts with Marco. That would be so fun.”

After more than two years of waiting for The Kissing Booth 2, fans were finally reunited with Elle, Noah, Lee, and the rest of the crew when the highly-anticipated sequel made its Netflix debut on July 24. The second film, which featured Joey King, Jacob Elordi, and Joel Courtney reprising their roles, picks up right where the first left off, with Elle and Noah happily in love and navigating a long-distance relationship as he begins his freshman year at Harvard.

Of course, things don’t remain rosy for long — especially with the introduction of several new charactersSpoilers ahead, FYI! We soon meet Marco Peña (Taylor Zakhar Perez), the dreamy new student who ends up falling for Elle after they get off to a rocky — and dramatic — start, along with Chloe Winthrop (Maisie Richardson-Sellers), Noah’s Harvard classmate who stirs up a lot of jealous feelings in Elle. Things get even more complex when Elle and Marco team up for a dance competition, all while she becomes more convinced that Noah is cheating on her at school. There’s also plenty of friendship ups and downs for Elle and Lee, along with her own college decisions looming in the distance.

With an emotional rollercoaster of an ending (we’re still reeling!) plus hints of a possible third film, it’s no surprise that fans had plenty to say about The Kissing Booth 2. Ahead, check out some of the film’s most memorable moments that made us laugh, cry, and maybe on some occasions, just want to scream at the TV screen.

Marco’s speech about love had fans in their feelings.

At one point in the movie, Elle and Marco are sitting together on the beach when he offers some wisdom about love and relationships. “You can’t really hold onto someone,” he tells her. “Cause the tighter you hold onto them, the more they wanna slip away. All you can do is love them and make sure they know that you’re never gonna slip away.” Excuse me, I have something in my eye!

Despite some highs and lows, Elle and Lee continue to be friendship goals.

We may not have a tangible list of rules with our besties, but there are definitely some unspoken bylaws — and these two set the bar for platonic soul mates pretty high.

The dancing!

Idk about you, but I’m definitely going to be spending my summer trying to learn Elle and Marco’s dance moves.

Fans had a lot of mixed feelings about Chloe.

On the one hand, it seems as though Noah and Chloe were just friends. On the other hand…those text messages. Here’s hoping that if there is a third film, we get to see more of Chloe — and maybe she and Elle will team up as pals.

Did you catch the funny blooper that made it into the film?

Eagle-eyed fans noticed that when Noah is waiting for Elle at the airport, he tosses her name card into the air…and it seemingly hits one of the actors walking in the background. Whoops!

Ugh, OK — let’s talk about that moment when Noah watches Elle and Marco kiss.

Did anyone else feel their heart drop when Noah’s energetic smile transforms into a confused and sad expression? Oof.

Still, fans weren’t thrilled when Elle chose Noah at the end of the film.

To be fair, The Kissing Booth 2 put in work to make viewers fall in love with Marco — and by the end of the movie, plenty of fans were rooting for Elle and Marco to make it official. But it seems as though Marco still thinks Elle is “worth it,” which makes us wonder: Is there going to be a third film?

It sure seems like a Kissing Booth 3 is possible.

The second film ends with Elle finding out she’s been accepted to both Berkeley and Harvard, so she has a pretty big choice to make. Given the hype surrounding both films — along with the general popularity of Netflix romcoms — we wouldn’t be surprised if a third installment is in the cards for the future. Here’s hoping!
