JJ Abrams Movies Ranked, Walkthrough The Visionary Director’s Filmography

#2 best movie? Super 8!

From Hollywood Insider : JJ Abrams Movies Ranked, Walkthrough The Visionary Director’s Filmography

#2 ‘Super 8’

At a point in his career, Abrams took a step away from franchises to create his own original film — that film was 2011’s ‘Super 8’. Inspired by Steven Spielberg’s‘E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial’, even having Spielberg produce, ‘Super 8’ is the most emotionally resonant film Abrams has ever made. While the film performed fairly well with critics and at the box office, it did not nearly achieve the heights I thought it would, leaving ‘Super 8’ as Abrams’ most-underrated film. Based on two film concepts Abrams was attracted to, an alien invasion film and a film about children in the 80s trying to make a movie. Abrams combined the two ideas to create what we know now as ‘Super 8’.

The action sequences are intense and spectacular, the dialogue is quick and clever, and the visual and special effects are exceptional. The train crash scene is one of the most memorable and intense sequences I’ve seen. The backbone of the film is not the spectacle however, the film is elevated by the characters and performances. ‘Super 8’ has some of the best child performances of any film — Joel Courtney, of ‘The Kissing Booth’ as our lead Joe captivates the audiences more than many adult actors do. His relationship with his father, played by Kyle Chandler, will pull on your heartstrings in ways you weren’t expecting.

Elle Fanning, of ‘The Neon Demon’, is heartbreaking in the role of Alice and launched her career to new heights after the release of ‘Super 8’. Each featured character in the film is handled with care and given an emotional journey that satisfies. The final scene of the film has one of my favorite instances of visual storytelling in Cinema — I cannot say enough about how incredible ‘Super 8’ is.

The Kissing Booth 3 (2021)

The Kissing Booth 3 is the final journey of Elle (Joey King), Noah (Jacob Elori), and Lee (Joel Courtney). The Kissing Booth 2 dealt with the end of high school for Lee and Elle. It left on a cliffhanger with Elle trying to decide whether to go to Harvard with Noah or Berkeley with Lee. Fans of The Kissing Booth series want to know who Elle joins at college. They also want to know how Netflix wraps it all up.

The Kissing Booth 3 was shown in Netflix’s official teaser for the films coming out in 2021. A release date hasn’t been announced yet, but The Kissing Booth was released in May 2018, and The Kissing Booth 2 in July 2020. The Kissing Booth 3 will likely be released in Summer 2021.

Who does Elle end up with in The Kissing Booth 3 book?

From Netflix Life : Who does Elle end up with in The Kissing Booth 3 book?

This summer, The Kissing Booth 3 will look to bring an end to Netflix’s trilogy of films based on the bestselling books by Beth Reekles.

While details about the final film in Netflix’s film trilogy are scarce, the biggest lingering question in the mind of every Kissing Booth fan is just who exactly Joey King’s character Elle will end up with when the dust finally settles and the franchise comes to a close.

Given Elle ended up with Noah (Jacob Elordi) at the end of The Kissing Booth 2, he seems to be the early favorite heading into the final film in the franchise. Noah has been central to Elle’s story throughout both films and been at the heart of the love story which has unfolded across the films so far.

Considering this is a rom-com, Noah seems like the safest bet; however, we shouldn’t be quick to write off Marco (Taylor Zakhar Perez) who is clearly carrying a torch for Elle and isn’t quite ready to throw in the towel in walking away without a real fight. And then there’s Elle’s long-time friend Lee (Joel Courtney), who fans can’t help but question whether he’s perhaps endgame for Elle.

While we’ll have to wait until The Kissing Booth 3 debuts on Netflix to see just who Elle ends up with, could the answer already be out there in the pages of the book which inspired the film?

Does Elle end up with Lee, Noah or Marco in The Kissing Booth 3 book?

The question of who Elle will end up with in The Kissing Booth 3 will indeed be answered in Reekles’ third book in The Kissing Booth franchise. However, the third book has not yet been released meaning there’s no way of knowing who Elle ends up with at the end of the book just yet.

Although the first two films in the franchise were inspired by the books, it will actually be the other way around with the third film as The Kissing Booth 3 will actually be a novelization of the movie. Because of this, it seems unlikely that the third book will hit shelves before the film releases on Netflix in order to avoid spoilers of any kind.

Super Bowl: The Best Movie Previews From The Last 25 Years

From Forbes:

How dominant was Paramount in 2011? They not only won the global market share, they had both almost all of the big blockbuster franchise movies (Captain America, Thor, Transformers: Dark of the Moon, Kung Fu Panda 2) and they had the “anti-blockbuster counterprogramming” in the form of J.J. Abrams’ Amblin-era sci-fi/horror homage. As a surprise tease for the 1980’s-set alien invasion melodrama, the commercial for Super 8 stood out as a non-franchise film starring actual humans in a mostly real world, a film that stood out as an old-school summer movie amid superheroes, robots and wizards. Yes, Paramount was selling the disease and the cure, not unlike the plot of Paramount’s Mission: Impossible II. The film was ironically only a moderate hit ($260 million on a $50 million budget) partially because the first wave of conventional blockbusters (Fast Five, Bridesmaids, Kung Fu Panda 2, X-Men: First Class) turned out to be unusually good. Ten years later, it’s a reminder that Abrams doesn’t need the Cloverfield IP to weave a throwback tale of wonder.
