Meet the Kids in First Official 'Super 8' Image

From BD Horror:

As part of their summer preview, Paramount Pictures has provided Bloody Disgusting with the first official still from Super 8, a Bad Robot/Amblin Entertainment Production that teams writer/director J.J. Abrams with the legendary Steven Spielberg. ...

Below you'll find the first ever image featuring (from left to right) Elle Fanning as "Alice Dainard" and Joel Courtney as "Joe". The poor kid in the background doesn't get a credit. I'd also like to note that there's "something" in the lens. Can anyone make out what it is?

Composer Michael Giacchino Talks "Super 8"

Collider has an interview with "Super 8" composer Michael Giacchino:

Collider: How far along are you on Super 8? The trailer seems like it has a very Amblin/ 70’s 80’s Spielberg vibe to it, does the score echo that sentiment?

Giacchino: I’m going for ultimately what works for the film. There are shades of that for sure in the score. I’ve pretty much written probably 90% of the score at this point. And then I’ve gotta go and record Cars 2 on Saturday, finish up all that for a week, and then I’ll go back to Super 8 and then in three weeks I’ll record that. So it’s been a crazy schedule for the last couple months, but yeah I’m excited about that one, that’s gonna be a really fun thing. I’m in a position where I get to go make something with my friends. Me and J.J. [Abrams] it’s like, the kid who lives next door, “Okay let’s go do this, that’d be cool wouldn’t it? Yeah that’d be fun!”

First Showing: "Super 8" Kid Actors Hit the Red Carpet

From First Showing:

Paramount aired a new TV spot with a few never-before-seen moments for J.J. Abrams' Super 8, my most anticipated movie of the year. It was uploaded last night by TheMovieBox. I believe it aired during the Kids' Choice Awards, which is where a number of youth-focused TV spots hits, including a few for Green Lantern, too. Paramount also brought out the five kids from the movie, lead by newcomer Joel Courtney as Joe (left in photo below), to the red carpet of the Kids' Choice Awards and the LA Times uploaded a very fun video interview with them that I've also included.
