Teen Vogue: The Kissing Booth 2: Joel Courtney Wasn’t Wearing a Wig in “Ghostbusters” Scene
From Teen Vogue : The Kissing Booth 2: Joel Courtney Wasn’t Wearing a Wig in “Ghostbusters” Scene

One of our favorite scenes in Netflix's The Kissing Booth 2 was the Halloween dance, where Elle (Joey King) and her BFF Lee (Joel Courtney) dress up as characters from Ghostbusters. Even though the two friends had their fair share of ups and downs in the second installment of the series, they were total goals in their ghost-hunting jumpsuits, and can we talk about Lee’s incredible towering hairstyle?

Well, if you thought Joel was wearing a wig to get his hair that sky-high for the scene, you’d be wrong – that was all him! As noted by JustJared Jr., Joel recently shared a behind-the-scenes moment to his Instagram proving his Ghostbusters hairstyle came right from his own head, not from a wig shop.

“One can of hairspray later I’m ready for Halloween,” he wrote about the video, which showed him in the hair and makeup trailer having his hair flat-ironed, thoroughly sprayed piece by piece, and teased to get it to those astronomical heights. It looked like quite a process, but the result was definitely worth it. Ahhh, the magic of moviemaking!

JustJared Jr. also notes that while Joel’s hair was not a wig, Joey's was, and she also shared a behind-the-scenes video of her hair-magic process. Joey rocked a long brunette wig for her second appearance as Elle since she had previously shaved her head for her Emmy-nominated role as Gypsy Rose Blanchard in Hulu’s The Act, though her hair has since grown back quite a bit!

The Kissing Booth crew revealed that a third movie was filmed at the same time as the sequel, so we’ve got more hair-raising moments to look forward to come 2021!

shared a fun video with fans about his Ghostbusters costume in The Kissing Booth 2!

The 24-year-old actor showed how he got his hair ready for those scenes.

“One can of hairspray later I’m ready for Halloween 🎃 👻 💀 🧟‍♂️ miss you @themakeupboz. Also the dance for Halloween took so long for us to get down. Did y’all like it? #thekissingbooth,” he captioned the time lapse video on Instagram.

One fan commented that they thought it was a wig, and he confirmed it wasn’t. “nope. All my hair 😂,” Joel replied.

If you didn’t know, Joel‘s co-star Joey King actually wore a wig all throughout the movie because she didn’t have any hair after coming off filming on Hulu’s The Act!

Just two days after The Kissing Booth 2 debuted on Netflix, the streaming giant has announced The Kissing Booth 3 is on the way. The sequel to 2018’s The Kissing Booth has been eagerly anticipated by fans, with Joey KingJoel Courtney, and Jacob Elordi all reprising their roles.

The exciting Kissing Booth 3 news was first revealed on Twitter, with a YouTube special event pegged to the recently released sequel confirming the secret filming. For the YouTube event, the original Kissing Booth trio were joined by fellow cast members Taylor Zakhar Perez, Maisie Richardson-Sellars, and Meganne Young to answer fan questions about The Kissing Booth. They also came armed and ready with the big news that not only is The Kissing Booth 3 coming next year, but they’ve already filmed it. Say what?! King even alluded to the fact filming for KB2 and KB3 happened simultaneously: “It was the hardest secret to keep ever” because “in one day we’d be filming both.”

Plot specifics on The Kissing Booth 3 are being kept under wraps. It’s also unconfirmed when exactly in 2021 fans will be able to watch the third installment in the massively popular Netflix franchise. The Kissing Booth is adapted from author Beth Reekles‘ YA series of the same name. The sequel picked up with Kissing Booth protagonist Elle (King) and Noah (Elordi) trying to do a long-distance relationship as he went off to college and she stayed behind in Los Angeles. Things get tricky quick when new possible love interests for both Elle and Noah come onto the scene.

The Kissing Booth 3 is coming to Netflix in 2021. Check out the official Netflix announcement featuring the Kissing Booth cast below. For more, check our picks for the best movies on Netflix you can watch right now.

From MTV : Pucker Up: The Kissing Booth 3 is Coming Your Way

Prepare those kissers and ready your lip gloss, because a new installment of The Kissing Booth is coming your way — and sooner than you might've guessed.

Just days following the release of The Kissing Booth 2 on Friday (July 24), Netflix announced the coming release of a third movie in the wildly popular franchise. During Netflix's #TKBFanFest YouTube livestream on Sunday (July 25), the series' primary cast — Joey King, Joel Courtney, Taylor Zakhar Perez, Maisie Richardson, and Meganne Young — confirmed they are to return in the new installment, set to premiere next year.

While many film and TV productions have been slowed, if not halted altogether, due to the ongoing coronavirus, The Kissing Booth 3 has already wrapped, having apparently been filmed, quietly, at the same time as its predecessor. Courtney, who plays best friend to Elle, revealed that the movie is now in post-production, to which King added that filming the movies simultaneously "was the hardest secret to keep ever."

The announcement was followed by a teaser trailer released by Netflix the same day. Where the second movie ended on a cliffhanger, with Elle grappling with her decision of which college to choose, the short clip hints that this will be addressed in the third entry. Elle is seen poolside with Marco, when she receives a call from Harvard. Check out the adorable teaser, below.

Cosmopolitan: Netflix just confirmed The Kissing Booth 3
From Cosmopolitan : Netflix just confirmed The Kissing Booth 3

Netflix have got your best interests well and truly at heart, as they confirm The Kissing Booth 3. Incredible.

Off the back of the The Kissing Booth 2 dropping earlier in July, the streaming service confirmed the third part of the franchise is coming. And what's more? It's already been filmed back to back with the second part, so will be released at some point next year. Eek!

"It's official! The Kissing Booth 3 is coming in 2021," Netflix wrote on Twitter.

Because part three was filmed in secret with the second part, which only went live on Netflix on Friday, a teaser trailer has already been released. In it, Elle (Joey King) is on holiday with both her boyfriend Noah Flynn (Jacob Elordi) and best friend Lee Flynn (Joel Courtney), who is Noah's brother.

At least we know that's one production that hasn't been put on hold due to lockdown.

Speaking of the third film, Joel Courtney, who plays Lee Flynn, revealed "it was the hardest secret to keep" while Deadline have been teasing the potential storyline. It’s the summer before Elle (Joey King) heads to university, and she hasn’t yet made the choice about which college she’ll attend. Will it Harvard, where boyfriend Noah is, or Berkley, where her best friend Lee is heading?

The Kissing Booth 1 and 2 are available for streaming on Netflix now.

Teen Vogue: “The Kissing Booth 3” to Debut on Netflix in 2021
From Teen Vogue : “The Kissing Booth 3” to Debut on Netflix in 2021

If you had a feeling that a third Kissing Booth movie was in the works from Netflix after the sequel ended with several questions, your suspicions were correct: The Kissing Booth 3 is officially happening!

The cast announced the upcoming third installment in a super-cute video shared to the film’s official Instagram account on Sunday, July 26. In the clip, we see stars Joey King and Joel Courtney walking together as Joel is casually texting on his phone. In Elle-esque fashion, Joey exclaims: “What are you doing?! You can’t send that!” From there, we see several cast members — including newcomers Taylor Zakhar Perez and Maisie Richardson-Sellers — react to the news with plenty of excited emojis.

But perhaps the best part of the video, and one worthy of all the LOLs, is when Jacob Elordi shows up at the end. Plopping down poolside across from Joey and Joel, the actor smiles and asks: “What’d I miss?” The short teaser ends with the words The Kissing Booth 3, adding that the film is slated to make its Netflix debut in 2021.

The big news was also celebrated by the cast in a YouTube livestream on Sunday afternoon where they shared that the third film was filmed at the same time as the sequel, meaning they’ve been doing a very good job of keeping this secret. The livestream also featured a small snippet from The Kissing Booth 3 as a little taste of what’s to come. In the scene, we see Elle hanging out by the pool with Noah, Lee, and Rachel when she receives a phone call from the Harvard admission office. She ultimately declines the call, looking momentarily stressed out, but then disappears into the house with Noah so he can “read some new poetry and tell me all about his feelings.” Suuuuuure, Elle.

Plenty of fans guessed that a third movie was on the horizon after The Kissing Booth 2 ended on a fairly large cliffhanger, with — spoiler alert! — Elle receiving college acceptances from both Harvard and Berkeley. There’s also the small matter of Marco’s serious feelings for her, and the big question surrounding whether or not Elle and Chloe will become friends. Fortunately, it seems as though all will be answered in the coming film — even if we do have to wait until next year to see it. In the mean time, we’ll be re-watching the first two films, and trying all summer long to perfect Elle and Marco’s dance moves.

While the actors are understandably excited for the third installment, they are also grateful for the fans and viewers — something that Joey made clear on Sunday's livestream. "I want to thank the fans for their tremendous support… the explosion of love has been so real,” she said. “It’s because of everyone on here that all of this has happened.”
