MTV: Pucker Up: The Kissing Booth 3 is Coming Your Way
From MTV : Pucker Up: The Kissing Booth 3 is Coming Your Way

Prepare those kissers and ready your lip gloss, because a new installment of The Kissing Booth is coming your way — and sooner than you might've guessed.

Just days following the release of The Kissing Booth 2 on Friday (July 24), Netflix announced the coming release of a third movie in the wildly popular franchise. During Netflix's #TKBFanFest YouTube livestream on Sunday (July 25), the series' primary cast — Joey King, Joel Courtney, Taylor Zakhar Perez, Maisie Richardson, and Meganne Young — confirmed they are to return in the new installment, set to premiere next year.

While many film and TV productions have been slowed, if not halted altogether, due to the ongoing coronavirus, The Kissing Booth 3 has already wrapped, having apparently been filmed, quietly, at the same time as its predecessor. Courtney, who plays best friend to Elle, revealed that the movie is now in post-production, to which King added that filming the movies simultaneously "was the hardest secret to keep ever."

The announcement was followed by a teaser trailer released by Netflix the same day. Where the second movie ended on a cliffhanger, with Elle grappling with her decision of which college to choose, the short clip hints that this will be addressed in the third entry. Elle is seen poolside with Marco, when she receives a call from Harvard. Check out the adorable teaser, below.

Cosmopolitan: Netflix just confirmed The Kissing Booth 3
From Cosmopolitan : Netflix just confirmed The Kissing Booth 3

Netflix have got your best interests well and truly at heart, as they confirm The Kissing Booth 3. Incredible.

Off the back of the The Kissing Booth 2 dropping earlier in July, the streaming service confirmed the third part of the franchise is coming. And what's more? It's already been filmed back to back with the second part, so will be released at some point next year. Eek!

"It's official! The Kissing Booth 3 is coming in 2021," Netflix wrote on Twitter.

Because part three was filmed in secret with the second part, which only went live on Netflix on Friday, a teaser trailer has already been released. In it, Elle (Joey King) is on holiday with both her boyfriend Noah Flynn (Jacob Elordi) and best friend Lee Flynn (Joel Courtney), who is Noah's brother.

At least we know that's one production that hasn't been put on hold due to lockdown.

Speaking of the third film, Joel Courtney, who plays Lee Flynn, revealed "it was the hardest secret to keep" while Deadline have been teasing the potential storyline. It’s the summer before Elle (Joey King) heads to university, and she hasn’t yet made the choice about which college she’ll attend. Will it Harvard, where boyfriend Noah is, or Berkley, where her best friend Lee is heading?

The Kissing Booth 1 and 2 are available for streaming on Netflix now.

From Teen Vogue : “The Kissing Booth 3” to Debut on Netflix in 2021

If you had a feeling that a third Kissing Booth movie was in the works from Netflix after the sequel ended with several questions, your suspicions were correct: The Kissing Booth 3 is officially happening!

The cast announced the upcoming third installment in a super-cute video shared to the film’s official Instagram account on Sunday, July 26. In the clip, we see stars Joey King and Joel Courtney walking together as Joel is casually texting on his phone. In Elle-esque fashion, Joey exclaims: “What are you doing?! You can’t send that!” From there, we see several cast members — including newcomers Taylor Zakhar Perez and Maisie Richardson-Sellers — react to the news with plenty of excited emojis.

But perhaps the best part of the video, and one worthy of all the LOLs, is when Jacob Elordi shows up at the end. Plopping down poolside across from Joey and Joel, the actor smiles and asks: “What’d I miss?” The short teaser ends with the words The Kissing Booth 3, adding that the film is slated to make its Netflix debut in 2021.

The big news was also celebrated by the cast in a YouTube livestream on Sunday afternoon where they shared that the third film was filmed at the same time as the sequel, meaning they’ve been doing a very good job of keeping this secret. The livestream also featured a small snippet from The Kissing Booth 3 as a little taste of what’s to come. In the scene, we see Elle hanging out by the pool with Noah, Lee, and Rachel when she receives a phone call from the Harvard admission office. She ultimately declines the call, looking momentarily stressed out, but then disappears into the house with Noah so he can “read some new poetry and tell me all about his feelings.” Suuuuuure, Elle.

Plenty of fans guessed that a third movie was on the horizon after The Kissing Booth 2 ended on a fairly large cliffhanger, with — spoiler alert! — Elle receiving college acceptances from both Harvard and Berkeley. There’s also the small matter of Marco’s serious feelings for her, and the big question surrounding whether or not Elle and Chloe will become friends. Fortunately, it seems as though all will be answered in the coming film — even if we do have to wait until next year to see it. In the mean time, we’ll be re-watching the first two films, and trying all summer long to perfect Elle and Marco’s dance moves.

While the actors are understandably excited for the third installment, they are also grateful for the fans and viewers — something that Joey made clear on Sunday's livestream. "I want to thank the fans for their tremendous support… the explosion of love has been so real,” she said. “It’s because of everyone on here that all of this has happened.”

From Click the City : ‘The Kissing Booth 2’ Stars Joey King and Joel Courtney Talk About the Sequel, Dance Dance Mania, and their OTPs

Two years since The Kissing Booth premiered on Netflix, Elle, Lee, and the rest of everyone’s favorite characters return to our screens tomorrow, July 24for The Kissing Booth 2! Fans of the first film better watch out for some more high school dilemmas, Dance Dance Mania scenes, and new characters to fall in love with.

The Kissing Booth 2 centers on Elle Evans as she heads back to high school for her senior year, where she has to work on her long-distance relationship with Noah, her friendship with Noah’s brother Lee, and the charismatic new guy in school, while also juggling with her college applications. Things take a turn, though, when Elle sees Noah growing closer to a seemingly-perfect girl, making Elle question her trust on him, and on whom her heart really belongs to.

The film comes from director Vince Marcello, who also wrote the script alongside Jay Arnold. Joey King, Joel Courtney, Jacob Elordi, Meganne Young and Molly Ringwald all return for the sequel, which also introduces new cast members Maisie Richardson-Sellers and Taylor Zakhar Perez as Chloe and Marco, respectively.

Just in time for the film’s premiere tomorrow, we got to talk with Joey King and Joel Courtney in a virtual press conference along with a couple of other members from the press. Check out the highlights of the Q&A where they talked about Dance Dance Mania, their movie ships, the advice they will give their characters, and more here:

Before being cast in this movie, how good were you at DDM? Did you have to learn it for the movie?

JOEY KING:  I am terrible at Dance Dance Mania or Revolution. I feel like I’m very fortunate that we had highly experienced choreographers helping us through because I needed help a lot. I loved dancing. I love doing choreography but if you put me on one of those machines…oh, goodness!

JOEL COURTNEY: There’s eye-foot coordination [involved in DDM] that you need to look at the screen and know what you’re stepping on, and then know what comes afterward. I remember, actually, we did it one time at an arcade, Joey, and you kicked my butt. You are far better than I was, I do remember that.

What was it like to work with Maisie and Taylor for The Kissing Booth 2?

JOEL COURTNEY: Oh my goodness, Maisie and Taylor – just the sweetest, most talented kind people in the entire planet. I have not that much time with Maisie on camera, and it is one of the saddest things for me. I wish that we had more scenes together. It just didn’t work out, with Harvard and LA and just being across the country. But I had some amazing times on set with Taylor, [who is the] the sweetest guy [and is] so talented. He really just came into The Kissing Booth universe, and [he] just fit perfectly.

JOEY KING: I agree 100% with that. Both of them now are some of my closer friends in life. They came in, and our whole crew just welcomed them with open arms and they just fit right in. They’re just the nicest people [and] both of them are the type of people who would just do anything for anybody. They’re so generous, so loving, so talented. We honestly hit the jackpot like there.

If it were up to you, are you for Team Marco or Team Noah?

JOEL COURTNEY: I’m Team Marco. He’s such a good guy, and I feel like I’m a nice guy. I’m one of those classic nice guys, so I root for the nice guy when I see him. Noah is more of like the bad boy turned to [be] a little softer [and] more in touch with his emotions. He’s honestly trying to do a relationship the right way as opposed to all the flings that he had in high school. But there’s something about a nice guy, you know. You got to have those nice guys.

JOEY KING: I’m team Narcos. Both of them. Another popular show on Netflix! I think that Elle has a lot of stuff on her plate, a lot of figuring out to do. For me, it’s difficult to say because whatever I say will be really read into by the fans. But I do agree with Joel. There is something so special about Marco. He is such a wonderful guy played by a wonderful person, Taylor Perez. It was just a real treat to watch him and see him in this role. I think one of my favorite things about Marco is his introduction in the film so that alone is a huge reason to like him. It’s just the funniest thing.

Lee has been caught up in this conflict between his best friend and his girlfriend. If you had a choice, would you have done something differently? Would you have chosen someone?

JOEL COURTNEY: I think if you’re going to be in a relationship with someone, I think you need to be willing to choose them 100% of the time.

I think I would have been more straightforward than Lee. In these circumstances, the crutches, and [the] ploys and some tricks are classic Lee. But I think a straightforward conversation would have been the better way of handling this situation.

The Kissing Booth 2 bucked the trend of seeing a character disappear into a relationship when they first got a boyfriend. We see Elle as she pulls away from that and leaning more into friendship. Is this something that you could identify with?

JOEY KING: I think Elle was really good at balancing friendship with relationships. It’s interesting because she’s dating her best friend’s brother, so she doesn’t have to stray too far away from her best friend when it comes to proximity, even though that she is in a relationship.

I think that when you get into a relationship, one of the things [that happen is] people do lose their identity a little bit and start to just kind of pull away from their friend groups. And the most important thing is to just find a balance. I think Elle has always been pretty decent at that. She has her ups and downs and gets herself into some pickles every now and then, but all in all, she’s a smart girl who just has to figure some things out.

Elle has been in this conflict between college, friends, and love. So if you could give advice to Elle as Joey, what would you say to her?

JOEY KING: I think my biggest advice to Elle, is, don’t throw your life away for somebody that could be not the best partner to you. Also don’t make your decision based on what your friend just wants you to do. You have to make a decision that makes you happy, so weigh your options. Think about it hard.

I think Elle’s biggest problem is being honest with the two people who mean the most to her and she tries to keep everybody happy and hide things. So I think my biggest advice is just to try to be a little more transparent.

Where do you think Elle should go to college, Berkeley or Harvard?

JOEL COURTNEY: Berkeley! Berkeley! Berkeley!

JOEY: As Elle herself, it’s hard. She’s torn between a promise she made her best friend and a life with her boyfriend and she doesn’t know what to choose. But I trust her to make the right decision. And I hope Netflix lets us find out what she does at some point.

Could you explain the insane popularity of the movie and then the franchise? What’s your take on it?

JOEY KING: I think people crave those classic 80s romcoms that we just weren’t getting anymore. And so this movie is tipping our hat off to all those wonderful 80s romcoms and we have the lovely Molly Ringwald to prove it. I just think that [the movie is] pure fun. No one can really be in a bad mood when watching it.

If you guys do end up filming The Kissing Booth 3, how do you want it to play out?

JOEL COURTNEY: I think people just need to make their own decision, you know. I think they need to find peace with that. It’s almost like a codependent relationship between Elle and Lee. “We’ve always been there, it’s always the two of us. We’re practically inseparable.” When you find one you find the other. I think it would have to be one of those things where they make their own decisions, and they live with it. I mean, they’re out of high school, and they’re making big decisions and there would have to be a lot of peace with it.

JOEY: I would like to see Elle take a gap year, become a cat lady, and a serial knitter and, you know, maybe just start an Etsy shop. Wishful thinking, am I right?

'The Kissing Booth 3' has already been filmed and there's a teaser trailer to prove it
From CNN : 'The Kissing Booth 3' has already been filmed and there's a teaser trailer to prove it

(CNN) Just days after "The Kissing Booth 2" debuted on Netflix, the streaming giant has announced that the hit teen romance will become a trilogy next year.

And it turns out that the third installment in the series, based on British teenager Beth Reekles' original book of the same name, won't be jeopardized by the Covid 19 pandemic -- because it is already in the can.

The original "Kissing Booth," directed by Vince Marcello and released in May 2018, told the story of high school student Elle Evans (Joey King), who falls in love with her best friend's older brother, Noah Flynn, played by Jacob Elordi.

The sequel, which premiered on Friday, sees their long-distance relationship tested as Noah heads off to college and Elle navigates the challenges of her senior year in high school.

The core cast -- Joey King, Joel Courtney, Taylor Zakhar Perez, Maisie Richardson-Sellers and Meganne Young -- announced during Netflix's #TKBFanFest live stream on Sunday that they are set to reprise their roles in the third film.

King, who was also executive producer on the second movie, said: "From the first movie to the second movie just coming out just on Friday, I mean the explosion of love has been so real. It's because of everyone on here that all of this has happened."

According to Courtney, who plays Elle's best friend, Lee, "The Kissing Booth 3" was filmed in secret at the same time as "The Kissing Booth 2" and is already in post-production.

King added that filming both movies at the same time "was the hardest secret to keep ever."

Following the announcement, Netflix released a teaser trailer for part three.

In the short clip, Elle is seen hanging out with Noah, Lee and Lee's love interest, Rachel, played by Young, when she receives a call from the Harvard admissions office -- which she ignores.

The franchise has been wildly popular since the first film was released in 2018, despite being panned by critics.

"The Kissing Booth 2" topped the Netflix top 10 list internationally following its release on Friday.
